Shelley is an Australian artist. Her work is mostly auto-biographical and responds to her exterior world through themes of identity, connection and intimacy. Imbued with personal meaning, it focuses on subjects such as the human condition and the relationship we have with our internal and external landscape. Through the directness and honesty of her words, marks and gestures, her work evokes a sense of emotion while engaging others in a shared experience.
As a multidisciplinary artist, Shelley uses a wide variety of media including oil painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, poetry and video. She has published a number of books including poetry and a children’s book.
Having lived in The Netherlands and Central Victoria and travelled extensively throughout Asia and Europe, she has exhibited in group and solo shows locally and overseas. She is currently based in Melbourne, Victoria.
